Community Fuels was the first in the nation to secure BQ 9000 Laboratory, Marketer and Producer certifications. At our Port of Stockton bio-refinery, we operate an analytical laboratory for performing quality control testing and research and development work. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for carrying out the full suite of analyses comprising ASTM Standard Specification for Biodiesel Fuel Blend Stock (B100) for Middle Distillate Fuels as well as American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS) methods for assessing biodiesel feedstock quality.
Community Fuels recognizes that the raw materials (i.e. feedstock) used to produce advanced biofuels will continue to expand and evolve. Our laboratory team has converted many innovative feedstocks into biomass-based diesel fuel and we continue to evaluate a wide range of bio-oils from sources such as jatropha, pongamia, algae, pennycress, camelina sativa, etc. We collaborate with developers of new feedstock to help determine the suitability for conversion to fuels. Once new feedstocks are proven to produce high quality fuel and are financially feasible and available in bulk supply, Community Fuels is well positioned to incorporate these new materials into our production process.
